Frequently
Asked
Questions

What is your cancellation policy?

There’s no charge for canceling or rescheduling with at least 48 hours’ notice. A $185 fee is charged for late cancellations or missed appointments. Insurance does not cover these fees, so clients are responsible for the cost of a late-canceled or missed session.

2

What are your rates?

Individual therapy sessions (50 minutes) are $185.

If you plan to use insurance, your out-of-pocket cost will depend on your specific plan, including factors such as deductibles, copays, or coinsurance. I will verify your benefits before we begin and provide an estimated cost so there are no surprises.

I also encourage clients to contact their insurance carrier directly to confirm that therapy services are covered and to ask about expected costs, including deductibles, copays, and coinsurance amounts.

3

What can I expect when starting therapy?

In our first sessions, we’ll get to know each other and explore what brought you to therapy, what you’d like support with, and what feeling better might look like for you. You don’t need to prepare anything. I’ll guide the process, and you can share at your own pace.

As we go, we’ll work toward your goals together, adjusting as needed and making space for whatever comes up along the way. I often encourage clients to build in quiet reflection after sessions and brief daily check-ins to support integration between sessions.

4

Do you take insurance?

I am in-network with Aetna, Carelon Behavioral Health, and Quest.

5

What are my client rights?

As a client receiving mental health services in Texas, you have specific rights under state law.

Accessing Your Records
You have the right to request a copy of your mental health records. Requests must be made in writing and may be submitted via email, secure client portal, or directly to the practice. Records will be provided in accordance with Texas law and applicable privacy regulations. If you have questions about accessing your records, please contact our office for assistance.

Record Retention
Mental health records are retained in accordance with Texas law. Records for adult clients are maintained for a minimum of seven (7) years from the date of last service. Records for clients who were minors at the time of services are retained for seven (7) years after the client reaches age 18.

Licensing & Professional Standards

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining the cost of your medical or mental health care. By law, health care providers must give patients without insurance or not using insurance an estimate of expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy.

You are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy. You can request a Good Faith Estimate from your healthcare provider or any other provider before scheduling a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute it. Be sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
